where do you keep them once they have flowered?

I put them in the shed till they go dormant then bring them indoors under the stairs cupboard for a few months.

thanks SL, does it matter if i put them in the garage with no light while waiting for them to go dormant?

Sorry yes they need sunlight to build up the flower for the next year, do you have a window sill it could sit on, once it's gone dormant they can be stored anywhere dark and dry and frost free.

its in a window at the moment ~ what do you count as dormant?

Sticki.
When the leaves start turning yellow stop watering and let all the leaves die back till you have just the top of the bulb showing, then just store in a cool dry place for 3 months or until new growth starts.

Lovely , Surrie , they are so special , and they can put on such rapid growth .
I haven't had any this year , and other previous ones have been lost in the depth of the greenhouse .
I do have gorgeous blue hyacinths in full bloom , I 'll try to get a pic of them .

Very beautiful Amaryllis. I would like to continue with questions, Slad.
I have now 2 bulbs of Amaryllis, which bloomed in January and now their leaves are dying. If I put them in a cold and dry place from now till June and then bring them back on the sun in the garden, will they flower this year once more?
Thank you.

Thanks everyone, that'll be nice Driad I'll keep my eyes open for your pic.
Kat they need a good rest so you may get them to folder by Christmas, as long as they get 3-4 months rest they should flower again

Picture duly taken , but I now can't load it up . (Such a novice ).
Big day for us tomorrow , the enormous pine tree is coming down , permission has been granted . I fear somewhat for all my plants in the vacinity , and the lean-to greenhouse beneath it , virtually .
Hey ho , I'm feeling sorry that it has to go , but the time has come .

Thanks Amy :-)
Lol Driad, yes a sad time but sometimes it just has to be done. Good luck I hope it all goes well for you..

Sticki , a minor victory today for tecnophobes .
I have been busy all day but I Googled how to do it , and after a few hiccups , I've done it !!
I'll put up the pics tomorrow of tree-felling . ( I'm feeling quite proud of myself , 'cause I've also fixed the camera which had refused to work .)
