Thanks Paul, that Bamboo is coming on great now. I'm thinking I might plant an ivy on the tiny bit of fence at the side and back of the shed. I've already planted an evergreen hydrangea at the front side, and a hydrangea petiolaris on the fence side behind the bamboo.

same type we have Karen the bamboo - ours in is a fairly sunny spot so doing well for its location. My favourite bamboo , arrow bamboo is nice but can get scruffy - is that viburnum right at the front too ?

No, that's Sambucus racemosa Plumosa Aurea...red berried elder. I adore it!

We have one of those Karen a sambucus anyway - not sure which type now though

We have this colour on our first arch, a very easy colour to live with, have just tried some of Cuprinols new shades (testers) on our other arches but they are not right, so it is back to the drawing board.....

I'm right made up with it A!
