I think it's a siskin, I get quite a few in my garden.

It's so.....yellow! Great to see something different. I spotted several different species all feeding at the same time today.

Great picture Lulu - I had two gorgeous Green Finches visit yesterday for the first time but they didn't go near any food. Maybe they were a scouting party for the others!
As much as I love watching the birds - it's so exciting to find a new species visiting, isn't it?

I bought some new bird food from wyevale, called 'peckish' 5 in one. Feeds all sorts of birdies.

It is a yellowhammer. I had them last year and my twitcher friend id'd it.. I've only seen mine once, very briefly this year. It is my favourite garden visitor!

All we have at present are four "homeless" pigeons and a pair of blackbirds in the Bay tree , and they have been there all winter .

unfortunately I have to stop feeding the big birds - have unwanted visitors.... stealing the bread...

Oh dear that's annoying. There's a trail for something going through my garden. Hope it's the fox rather then the rats!

well unfortunately I got two of the latter you mentioned. And now I am wondering who I am feeding. I thought I have a hedgehog living in my little garden.... not so sure anymore who is eating the cat food/raisins/apple mixture I am living under the potting bench...
just discovered few holes in my shed... action required quickly...

I am sure Masha would deal with them best, but it's too cold/wet for her to be outside long enough...

Kasy, I just found a vole nesting near my veggie patch! Poor wee thing, I was clearing some pots, trays and old carpet I had left on the grass when clearing out the old plastic green house. I couldn't leave them in a pile in the middle of the garden, so poor wee thing lost its new cosy home!

oh, poor little soul....
I haven't seen my 2 visitors lately - but there is a tomcat (I call him Romeo) waiting for Masha to come out - so they must be scared and moved somewhere else...
