thanks Spenny, it is tidy at least, just need a little rain now to water everything it has become quite a dry garden with all the cold winds which have blown across it. Deep down it is ok but the top bit is drying off really quickly.Hope you are getting lots of sunshine as we are today. :O))))))

Lime ginger looks great there! I would really like it if my grass seed would germinate. I'm fed up looking at the patches of muck now! Been at Glamis today in the sunshine. It is so beautiful up there...I go about singing to myself and wear a permanent grin! Today I took two big Phormiums up and planted them, and two Yucca...all of which were too big for their pots and would have ended up in the dump, so it was great to pass them on. I also got 10 free penstemons from Hayloft, as they sent me the wrong collection and when I phoned to explain, they said I could keep them, and they are sending me the blue ones I wanted. They are good healthy plants. Kath and I also planted some climbing roses and clematis on to two large metal arches. It's all coming along wonderfully. We need to split some plants from elsewhere in the castle gardens so we can get some real height at the back. Kath brought a lovely peony rose from her own garden too.

Yes, it's a garden for lingering in with a nice glass of something isn't it Carole? :)

thank you everyone, it is so nice to see sunshine and for it to be warmer out there. It really makes you feel like gardening again. Thank you everyone for looking in.:O)

No sign of warmer here yet, but in the walled garden it is quite a lot warmer, as there are high trees around it on every side, and the walls of course.

just been hanging out the washing and checked the Heuchera label, it is not Lime Ginger it is Lime Marmalade LOL :O) another senile moment the worse thing was when I put it up on here I thought to myself it doesn't sound right that but eh ho I still didn't look until this morning. lol. what am I like. glad you are not so cold in the walled garden. Brian came round yesterday to pick up something and he said at their side of the wood it is freezing cold. He wants to come and live this side. lol.

think I was thinking more on the lines of 'GINGER MARMALADE' I love ginger marmalade, now that would make a good name for a Heuchera don't you think!! Maybe there is one called that already. lol :O)

ot sure, but there might be. I have 'Ginger Peach' but I love anything Ginger. Do you remember how I used to eat Ginger Nuts by the packet full when I was a child? I take Ginger oil on flights with me as it helps so much with nausea, and I always have gingery oriental dishes. it's cloudy here, and cold....brrrr. But I've parcelled up some geranium phaeum 'Blauwvoet' for some on here. One on its way to you.

oh thank you Karen, not sure I remember ginger nuts being eaten, but I too love them. No one else likes ginger here only me so I have to treat myself occasionaly. Sun just come out here, still quite chilly though, keep going for a wander around but nothing is growing very quickly. Although most of the garden looks healthy one or two Heucheras rather sad looking. Think the wind has damaged them rather than the cold.

yes, mine are looking awful too. :( Very cold here and raining too. I took Scott to the castle for lunch and showed him our walled garden!

So refreshing....after all the dull freezing cold days..beautiful garden!

Wow, you've been busy, Barbara ! I love the way you have sectioned your garden off with the little fences !

10 Apr, 2013

All looks lovely Olive, and I like the Lime Marmalade too. I have Lime Ricky which is a similar colour, and it always lights up the garden. Your garden looks really inviting.

Karen was Scott impressed with your hard work, it is looking good.

Michaella - It was good to be able to do some work in the garden, I have been planning in my head all winter :O)

Rose - I made all those panels too :O) I do not think I could spend the time on them again though pleased you like it.

Cinders thank you I had, think it was Key Lime Pie and it didn't survive, similar in colour, hope I am more successful with this one. Heucheras are so good for giving such a variety of colour in the garden. I just love them.

Did you build them from scratch, Barbara or did you buy some of the trellissing ? I want to make a trellis fence at the end of my allotment, behind the green house, but I think it will have to be taller than yours as the young lads in the houses at the back seem to think its fun to aim stones at the green houses ! They have already broke some panes next door to mine ! They don't have anything better to do !

10 Apr, 2013

Hubby bought me the wood and I made them all, a few years since now though. I made the one that goes around the big border also (the one that I have for growing roses up) two springs ago now, it was hard work but well worth it, saved me some money. lol.The hardest work was sawing all the different pieces to size. My arms hurt after all that. lol :O)

Nice bit of trelliswork, Olive. Lol.
The garden looks different without all that snow.
Lovely wee garden.

10 Apr, 2013

Thanks Mouldy it does look so much better now that the snow has disappeared. This is only about 1/3rd of the garden. It then goes to the right and three more borders and a big raised area which used to be a veggie patch. Now turned over to roses and flowers lol. To the left of this picture is my veggie garden, which has yet to be started on. I do not do digging until it gets warmer my back doesn't stand the cold well and I only work in sunshine. lol. its called OLD AGE! LOL or is it Laziness one of those things. lol

11 Apr, 2013

You did do well, then Barbara !

11 Apr, 2013

thank you Rose:O)

11 Apr, 2013

That's all looking lovely, Barbara ... I dream of a garden of that size ... lol!

11 Apr, 2013

thank you Shirley, I dreamed when it was just like a grass field and look what happened - dreams can come true. lol :O)

11 Apr, 2013

I was thinking of murdering my entire street & taking over all those back courts, then realised I'd have to bury all those folk IN the back courts, which defeats the purpose.
Just have to curb my ambitious envy 'til I can think of another plan. Boo! :-\

12 Apr, 2013

Make good compost though Mouldy :O) lol

12 Apr, 2013

That'd mean the world's most enormous compost bin...I'd finally get into the Guiness book of records.
Marvellous idea, Olive. You're a genuis! Hurrah! :-D
I'm so glad I joined Goy. Lol.

14 Apr, 2013

lol :O) I shall be watching crimewatch :O)

14 Apr, 2013

Time for me to dust off my 'Dangermouse' disguise, I think. Lol.
