It blooms in fall and spring, I think. Maybe all year-round. I always see them with flowers.

Love it, tried to grow one in my greenhouse kept it alive for 2 years but no flowers :o(

Banksia trees/shrubs typically like hot, dry sunny condition all year. They love it here in San Diego, CA. We get so little rain throughout the rainy season here.
I'll post another photo of this whole tree. The ground is like concrete.

Banksia, Proteas and many other trees/shrubs in the Proteaceae family have amazing flowers. They're very widely used as dried flowers and last for many years.
