Thanks Sticki, yes that is the idea, with a few little slug pellets mixed in. Fingers crossed.

I hope so too. I don't usually have much bother with the slugs till late in the season,

dont tell anyone and dont say this out loud but so far i have some lilies coming up ~ with no sign of the lily beetle!!.....dont suppose that will last long!
the slugs are appearing though :-(((

Yes I've seen a few slugs today, but probably not warm enough for the lily beetle yet.

Thanks Sandra. The stones, thereby lies another tale. I went to a local reclamation yard and was able to get them for £3. They just wanted me to put some money in their tea tin., and suggested £3. Glad to get rid.,

Blimey Cinders, that was a bargain..they are so expensive at the Garden centres, aren't they? about that price for one,if not more..we never thought of trying there, when we made a little rockery,a few years ago..duh !

Thanks Karen, I'm very choosy about what goes in there !!
Thank you DD.
thanks Sandra, oh dear, missed out again then with your stones. I couldnt believe the price. I almost felt guilty.

They will still have made a profit I think,so just enjoy )
I will know where to go,if ever I need some more,won't ?
we live and learn !

I find the local quarry is the best place. So much cheaper than GC, and if you want big boulders, they let you choose from their big mountain and lift them down and wash them for you so you can see the full effect. Then they charge you tuppence-hapenny for them....definitely a bargain!

Thats Brillian Karen. I don't know of a quarry near here unfortunately, but I'm happy with what I've got.

We have a huge Quarry about 10 minutes away from us..shame we didn't think of it before grrrr!

Thank you Hb. The rockery is coming along nicely now. Have added a few more rocks and alpines.

A job well done, its not easy digging overgrown Hosta's out and dividing them up, I did it last year, but its well worthg the effort to see all the new growth, A lovely rockery area too with lots of spring colour.;00

Thank you PP. I've been using a saw today to saw some more pieces of the original clump. Its really hard.

love the rockery ~ are those little stones round the edge of the pots to scare off the slugs?
