Yes. lulu ,my boys planted the conker about 16 years ago in a small pot(it's been repotted a few times) I haven't got enough space to plant in the garden despite both my boys' plebes over the years! What I'd really love is for one of them to have a large garden of their own one day and I'd plant it for them!!!!!

Needs to be quite a large garden!!
I have a few oak trees in pots and have been giving them away for a few years now, funny, living in a huge stud farm with loads of room they weren't needed here. I am, personally, gutted!

The conkers are between a half to three inches tall, Lulu. Snigr.

The conker tree is about 7 ft tall Lulu!in a largeish pot but not been repotted for a few years! If I put it in a larger pot, I probably wouldn't be able to move it!

Put the pot on safe/piano wheels, Paul.
They have brakes, so you can position it to suit.
As the name suggests, they can bear excessive weight. :-)

Good idea.....it needs moving occasionally as the roots go down into the ground!

Of course they go down to the ground. In fact they usually go below ground. Lol.
Do you mean they've outgrown the pot?
If so, you can prune them, usually just before Spring...a bit like reverse bonsai.
We used to do it with yearling trees to encourage stronger & more prolific root growth.

Yes they grow through bottom of pot but break through the concrete he pot is sitting on! I do cut the root but really need to repot it!!
