What do you consider hot? I consider hot over 92ºF (33ºC). Tomorrow it may be this hot here.

I consider 33C pleasant ! We have been roasting at 42 C and more for the past week! and there is more to come.

It's all subjective and what you're used to experiencing. In the UK they consider 17ºC (63ºC) warm to very warm, what I've seen on the comments on my photos. lol! Of course, I would be freezing at those temps this time of year.

We don't get 42ºC (107ºF) temps until mid to late-summer or fall. I hate that type of heat! It's not unusual to get 110ºF (42ºC) or higher temps in early fall (inland). Right now the low deserts (in far eastern San Diego County) are already experiencing 110ºF (42ºC) temps. I very rarely go to the desert in summer. I get sick from this type of heat! (especially during the monsoon season).

The temperatures will drop with the coming of the monsoon but bring with it the misery of humidity which I hate but plants love!
A lot of " exotic plants" get grilled by this heat and that is the end of them. It limits what can be grown here, but that does not stop us from trying!

I read and head about the monsoon season in India. I know the heat and humidity doesn't even compare to some of that horrible, horrible heat and humidity you receive there. Although, sometimes we do get heat indices of 123 - 135ºF (50.5ºC - 57.2ºC) in inland areas during the monsoonal flow; however, rarely get the rains (just the heat and humidity). Generally, the rains stay in the mountains and deserts giving them excessive heat warnings.

Over the years I've lost plants due to extreme heat. I do know what you mean when you say: "A lot of " exotic plants" get grilled by this heat and that is the end of them"
I've even lost Plumerias in extreme heat waves, and Plumerias love a lot of heat!
