Very nice one. Those which bloom in June are more hardy then early sorts.

The buds are less incline to freeze. Not that is a problem on Vancouver Island but I have one red yaku rhodie which is late blooming as well but many of the buds never open.

What is yaku rhodie? You mean Yakushima rhododendron?

Yes, yakushimanum. We mostly call it Yak or Yaku :-)
