Ants on Peony buds

The only time of the year I ever see Ants in the garden - they do no harm to the developing buds, they love the sticky coating.

I agree with Simbad, that's a brilliant photo. I am having the same problem with ants undermining plants.

Trouble is these days I feel guilty about killing anything pest or not !!!!, find myself rescuing the tiniest moths and spiders and putting them outside is that normal?? lol.

Crikey what a fab close-up Scottish !!!!!!
I have so many ants this year everywhere I dig there seems to be nests they've excavated under a couple of plants too which don't look to healthy now.
