Geum rivale 'Apricot'

A lovely one Gee :o)

I had them in the garden for a long time Gee. They are very pretty too. They like a moist soil and I can't provide that unless there is lots of rain, like last year.

I don't have a problem providing moist soil, Dorjac, having heavy clay water does seem to linger! I have a couple of other Geums and they seem to do well here.

Thanks, Neellan, plants were being sold in the church and I was told that this came from the Geum National Collection at Frittenden in Kent so I had better look after it :)

Its a very pretty one Gee, I have some growing with the Welsh Poppy seeded amongst them and they do look attractive;0)

Carol Klein was in raptures on Monti Don's show last night about Geums. She visited a white haired lady who has the national collection. They were very pretty, like a meadow of Geums. Mine never looked like that!!! They never self sowed, as in her garden. Everything else in my garden wants to take over.....but not Geum Rivale or Astrantia, two plants I really like. They just conk out on me.

I missed that prog. last night, Dorjac so have just watched it on Iplayer. Yes, that's where my little geum came from, it's not very far away from here. It was nice to see the geums in situ there. I've tended to plant mine at the front of the borders but think they may be better further back. I still have to plant 'apricot' :)
