This grows from little tubers that run along the ground Scottish...Each Spring as they appear i take a few bits and replant....or should i say my brother takes a few bits....:>)

What compost do you use. I've tried lots of times and they always fail.

I plant them in the ground Scottish..any soil as long as it is well drained and moist..they dont like dry roots....Mine is in shade at the bottom of a North facing fence...but the foliage grows up to the light.....moisture is vital...:>)

Thanks - It grows happily in my front privet hedge and seeds all along the edge. I have unsuccessfully tried moving it around for the last 4 years!
This years seedlings are of a good size and I'm trying to grow them on a make shift trellis now until they get a decent size!

This particular potful was lifted last Spring and put into this pot of multipurpose compost, kept in shade and watered regularly....Its herbaceous and appeared again this Spring....It looks lovely in your hedge, i'll bet.....:>)
