It's hard to pick a favorite daphne but this one is definitely near the top.

All you need to become a Daphne lover is to smell the flowers!

If you're looking for an easier daphne, this one would definitely be a good smaller daphne to try. It's a smaller daphne but they all fill out quickly and this one is one of the best for fragrance and one of the longest flowering too. Daphne x burkwoodii 'Somerset' and Daphne 'Rosy Wave' are probably the easiest but Daphne tangutica is up there too. Most daphnes are short-lived but the three I just named can live up to 15-20 years.

oh, thank you! checking those out immediately.
neither Shoot! nor RHS has the Rosy Wave, but Dave's Garden has; they have the other two. thanks again

Rosy Wave is not one I see listed at many nurseries, if you do a google search on Daphne 'Rosy Wave' you will probably get better results. I listed that one on Dave's Garden, I probably added at least 15 daphnes to that site.

oh, right! lol. I'm trying to plan my next move, rather than just rushing in and getting myself all over the place, but I will look out for Rosy Wave
