They are a very pretty and unusual colour, mine are all in bud and have grown huge this year, will put a picture on for you when they open up;0)

thank you Jane :O)
Pansy, is it me or are they later than they usually are? I have only a few day lillies open and I think they were all out by this time last year. Just think the garden is still catching up from the cold wet spring we had. After saying that it is good to see all the colour still after the rain which has done so much good for the gardens.

Mine are Oriental Lilies Olive and I have just checked last years pictures seem to be around the same time! I do have a couple of Day lilies but they havent even budded this year!

My lilies in pots are definitely late this year. And my fuchsias, which had overwintered so well, haven't a single bud on them, despite being lush and green. Ah well...

My fuschias are the same, but look well enough. Suppose they will be in flower when other things have gone over. :O)

I hope so, Barbara. I keep inspecting mine, hoping for some buds. They are Swingtime. I had a lovely new Hawkshead last year - a white hardy one in the border, which has died in the last week, never having flowered again. I am so disappointed. I have watered it and fed it, so I'm not sure what's happened. I took it out yesterday and inspected the roots, but can't see any pests or problems - except that it's dead.

oh that is disappointing Melchi, I love Hawkshead too, I am going to buy it next year, hope it survives for me. The hardy fuschias in the tubs are just starting to put on buds now, so hopefully they will be flowering soon. Will you try Hawkshead again?

I might if i find a good position for it . Perhaps it was a bit overwhelmed where it was. I am so bad at remembering what is growing at different times of the year and so I plant things where there isn't really a gap! I am going to take lots of photos in August just so i can see what's what. I am also splitting up some of the perennials that are outgrowing their allotted spaces eg Sedum Spectabile which is taking over one border. Much as i love it, it would be better to have a bit of variety.
I have just noticed - it's dark now and it's raining again after a lovely day. So satisfying!

Rain and wind for us last night, blown things about not too much damage apart from the Sumac tree which has been split down the middle of its main trunk. I shall get out soon and chop it down and hope the remaining branches stand up ok, but I am not holding out much hope for it. Still the rain has done good.

It rained all night, for which I was grateful. But again, a mostly fine day - amazing! I had left one of those big tub trugs out and was surprised by the amount of water it had acquired - enough to water most of my tomatoes! Sorry to hear about your Sumac - such a pretty tree.
