A long story Karen ! are you sitting comfortably ? It almost filled that small border, but got frosted on one side..and wasn't recovering well..so I thought I would give it a light prune !It looked awful and all out of shape,so I kept pruning....and pruning, till there was only a couple of tiny bits left ! Annella did the same with hers, and we had such a good laugh about it..I christened her " Annella the Annihilator" ,and she called me" Bloomer the Butcher" Lol.I dug mine up,and replanted the two rooted bits seperately,so now I have two growing away nicely.. ..Are you still there,or have you lost the will to live? Lol.good job I never wanted to be a Hairdresser :o)

Thanks Neellan..it was a"what have I done" moment when I did it,but I think they have both forgiven me for being so cruel,as they are looking happy now :o)

I think you should go for it,and the Sweeney Todd look might just be the next in thing,be the first to set a new trend in Topiary ..Lol...If I can do it....?? xx

Now Sandra, as you're so good at this topiary lark ....I have a holly golden King which I lollipopped a few years ago, it looked really good and gave me extra planting space underneath. Unfortunately I didn't trim little and often enough and I can't reach the top now. Here's my little plan .... you whiz up here with your magic secateurs, bringing a ladder .... and I'll foot it while you give full reign to your butchering tendancies. If you could bring Annie Annihilator with you, that would be even better ...I'll make the tea:-)))

Ha ha,Ba,you might live to regret it if we both turned up ! I presume hard hats and a safety harness would be provided and a few choice goodies to go with the tea? It could end up looking like mine in size..can you live with that? Lol.x

Can I book you too Bloomer? I've got this disgusting hedge which I'm planning to lop in no uncertain terms..and while you're at it there's this cherry tree which could do with a prune..oh and a couple of evergreens in the front garden..then there's the Montana Clematis which is taking over...are you still there?...Bloomer?..hello...

Ok Waddy.I was going to ignore you,but on second thoughts, with an ulterior motive in mind...does this mean a free lunch, or two or three is being offered as payment..or do you assume I will do it out of the goodness of my heart?..I've heard all about doing a favour for a friend ! Lol...but you are taking it a step too far ! ha ha....It's ok ,everyone who reads this, she can take it..:o)
Any Chocolate in this deal ???

Lol Karen..I must learn the words to "I'm a Lumberjack "..looks like I could be skimming up Redwoods before long,if this goes Global :o) x

It looks relieved that you gave it a second chance and has told me that it will try its best for you in the future! It also likes its colourful company at the moment and thinks it sets it off very well!

Thanks Chris, and I'm glad you gave it a good talking to..although strictly speaking,it was me who chopped in down in it's prime ! I rhink it likes the company as well :o)

Lol! Ok Bornagain, you first.
Yes, Bloomer I'm sure I could run to a lunch (or two) and as for the chocolate...well what do you think?
When can you start? Lol!

When I finally finish mine Waddy ! Lol..I'm sure I have an addiction to Secateurs..just been " trimming back" a Pieris and Aucuba, and then went next door to dead head all my neighbours Pelargoniums....it's ok,she did know..ha ha...and I left the new flowers alone...I think I should tell Russell to hide them, whilst I still have some foliage left Lol

Lol I'm a bit late on this one! My cuttings are coming on a treat now which is a good thing as the mother in the border is never coming back. I didn't have your patience and dug my poor straggly excuse to come back to life up last year.
Ps It's a good thing we are not neighbours, can you imagine the dead heading that would be going on.....You would never dare to go on hols!!

Hiya Annie....I knew you would see this eventually :o)no problem..I'm glad I left mine ,as I was on the point of giving up as well..We would have to put warning signs on all the plants that had to be left alone, wouldn't we? I would be eyeing yours up as well..a girl with a pair of secateurs is a dangerous thing!:o)
