i do love the blue of these, proper name is Commelina Dianthifolia..

thats a interesting name widows tears.. might look that up see if theres a meaning behind the name...
its a very up lifting blue like the sky blue up lifts.

What a lovely shade of blue,S.lad..do you think the three dots on the centre petal are supposed to represent the tears..widow or not? it would be interesting to know why it is called that..

sorry to disturb.. found the reason.
Widow's tears? When the flower wilts at the end of the day (dayflower), it dissolves into a fluid jelly, like tears.

This is a new one to me ,it's a stunning blue ,I liked the name explained by Jane ,it's always good to find out more about a plant .. :-)
