Crab Apple 'Pink Glow'

Aren't they lovely? My John Downie is just beginning to ripen.

I love those tiny fruits - never do anything with them but get pleasure from just seeing them.

At my old house I had a golden hornet, which was very prolific, and the blackbirds feasted on the little fruit every winter. So far, this pink one has had very few fruit, but they are much larger, and you could actually do something with them if you had the time and inclination....if there were enough...which there aren't!

I haven't enough of them either.

I always used to make crab apple jelly every year - it is one of my favourites - but when OH developed diabetes I stopped (otherwise I just ate too much!) so now the birds get most of the fruit. Which is OK.

It is Melci...and you get to enjoy the birds! :))
