I heard that name as well...but (usually) it refers to Nerine bowdenii...which are starting to come out as well. I used to call nerines naked ladies but I learned it's botanical name from Stickitoffee . I have hot seen her on the GOY for some time now.
I also heard Colchicum being address by that name. They put lots of leaves out in the spring and in early summer they die off and make big mess. I have lots of them.

They are starting to come out in droves now when everything else is winding down. The trouble is that the rains will start soon and will beat the very delicate flowers down.
