Thank you Amy and Susanne :))
Strangely enough, the 'parent' Euonymus is still green . . . but it's in dry shade, and the bonsai certainly gets more attention (and water!).

Wow! Thanks Sheila! y euonymus alatus has been removed for transport and it is only just starting to colour a little. LAst year it was red in late summer and dropped its leaves very early. I think it was doing much better as a result of my hard work on the drainage over the winter.....typical eh....just get it sorted out and then move on!

isn't it stunning Annie. It looks fabulous beside Leucothoe curly red and other red leaved perennials!

Thanks Annie :) I love it too, as it stays so upright and looks good for months!

We have a Euonymus alata, full size, growing in a gravel area at the front of our house, which has been throwing up runners all over the place!
It is becoming a real nuisance, we could have a forest if we wanted to let them grow!! We have tried killing them off, but that is affecting the bush as well, so I think after this year we shall get rid of it altogether.
We have had it several years - probably more than 5 years, - I can't really remember.
