I've potted them up & put them on the balcony railings. Today I had to take them down again as we have some very strong & very cold North-easterly winds. If I left them on the railings the wind would have ripped them to sheds.
In a couple of days, once the winds die down again, I'll put them back again.

lol I saw that you'd beaten me to it when I looked at your other pics, this was the first one I opened.
awk, that wind doesn't sound too good. where are they at the moment, until they're safe to go back up?

Could you not cover them up with something that would still allow the light to pass through? What about some of those propagator covers but with a few holes in them? Then you would have to tie them down or place something heavy on them, I suppose...hmmm.

They spent a few days on the balcony floor given a little protection by other bigger pots. I put them back up again yesterday.
GM: I can't cover them while they are on the balcony railings. It's a 3m (10ft) long railing & would be very impractical to cover with anything. I put them on the balcony floor where they had a little more protection from the wind. They are now back on the railings again.

read something about indivudual pot covers, using three sticks and a plastic bag, the sticks to hold hte bag off the flowers. don't know how the base would be anchored, or how effective it'd be - or how easy to do en masse

Too much hassle! I'm very lazy! It's easier to take them out of the rings & put them in a little more sheltered position. It's mostly for the present having just been transplanted. They will be fine after a few weeks when they have put out new roots & become established.

lol simplest is often best - and (hope!) it's not somthing you'd need to do very often.
