It's the leaves on this one for me Sheila, the flowers are small and frothy not the usual tall spikes :o)

Just like the first comment I never go for astilbes but this is really nice with its autumnal shades.

The leaves are slightly tinted and a pretty shape all summer too Inverglen :o)

This is certainly different from other Astilbies, the foliage is beautiful.Added to favs. :-)

Me too... A fabulous plant. I am not a fan either. I love the red astilbe faunal, and the smaller and more compact astilbe chinensis 'pumila', but this one is even nicer! Annie...your plants are coming with me to the new house. I won't send them until the spring now.

Thats so kind of you Annella I've checked my book and it says divide clumps every few years in autumn and spring, please don't touch yours as I don't think it's that old , If I haven't found one in 5 years time I'll let you know LOL .. x
