Really?
I ate them only once and I stopped eating them. Couldn't be bothered because of 1) the fine thorns on the fruits (they are small but deadly, I mean it; worth than the main thorns on the leaves) 2) stones/seeds are so big and not much flesh in the fruits; I thought it was not worth it. Do you make juice yourself? I should try to make juice one day.

I never made juice myself, but had it served to me daily while living in Africa - Dar Esalam. It so much better when somebody else does all the work, LOL. I agree, those thorns could be a problem, but try pouring it through a strainer or cheese cloth.

Wow, how posh :o) You had a servant then? Did you live there long??? Thank you for the tip; I'll definitely make juice.

I lived in Africa for about 6 months in various countries. They weren't servants, just really nice people being hospitable at the hotel I was staying at. The juice is very sweet/tart like cranberry juice. I love it. I just noticed the little frog sitting on the cactus. I can't believe how tiny he is. Amazing!

In various countries? May I ask how many? Where is your favourite place?
I don't know why but 2 frogs seem to love to sit there, doing what? Meditating? Enjoying doing nothing? They obviously don't care about the thorns..

What else?
See who else is growing Opuntia ficus-indica (Barbary Fig).
See who else has plants in genus Opuntia.
This photo is of "Opuntia" in Tommymoo's garden

Those fruits are really delicious, especially when juiced.
