One of Ian's standard Fuchsias, still looking good, I'll have to make sure it's well wrapped up for winter.

:o)) There are a few to look after Dawn, also standard French Lavenders. I'm not sure where I can put them as the cold greenhouse will be too cold, and the shed too dark. No doubt I'll sort something out before then.

Hope you can keep it going, Janey, it's lovely, and very special.

He loved growing standards Sheila, there is a bench by the window in the garage/shed, I bet they'll be fine there,
Don't you.....:))

Maybe take cuttings just in case Janey?? But I put two annual fuchsias in my cold greenhouse last winter, and they survived :))

I definitely will Amy and take some cuttings too Sheila.....I've cleared a special area, and the window is double glazed....:))

Hope the standard survives Janey - that's the main thing :))

Hi Janey, I heated our greenhouse one winter but too expensive. Anything tender, in pots, I now move into the unheated greenhouse and wrap them with fleece and bubble wrap, it seems to work although I tend to unwrap them too early in the spring, then get them frosted. I must not do that next year.

Yes we did this last year Dawn, but still lost half of the fuchsias, one or two standards lost the stem but grew again from the base. Going to give the shed a try this year..:))

Such a beauty, hope you can keep it going..

Oh Janey, what a shame, sounds like they like a bit more frost protection than just the greenhouse, good luck with the shed. I feel I need a porch built on the house just for this very purpose, lol.

Me too Dd......lol Dawn, just what I could do with too....:))

Now that's good to know Gralew, have you cut yours back yet? Mine are in the shed by the window, I've left them with all their growth on still, I think other years I've pruned them back too soon and then the cold has got to them.

No Janey. Didn't cut them back last year at all till all the leaves had dropped off, will probably do the same this year.
