It is gorgeous. I can't wait to see the others!

You might have to wait more than that.........

11 of my seedlings germinated. 7 more to go.....

Fantastic! Well done! I'm very envious!
I love love love Plumeria but I thought it was impossible to grow them in England/France even in greenhouses/poly tunnels and I gave up the idea to have them. But if it's possible in Somerset, then I can! I'll definitely give it a try one day.

Don't get too excited.....Roy has just started his plants from seed.

Milky, that is growing hers for a few years now(from a cutting) in a greenhouse still has not seen a flower.

They need a lot of sun and heat!

From seed! That's a good idea, although it takes longer before you see the flowers.

Mine are from seed. (I have 8 different types) Took me three years to see a flower. I had a flower spike last year but it never bloomed.

How many seeds did you buy?????????

25 Oct, 2013

A lot. ;o)))))))

I give a lot away as gifts. I only keep one per color. (two the first time)

25 Oct, 2013

How many seeds did you sow and how many germinated??????

25 Oct, 2013

I can't remember....the first time was three years ago. The second, two years ago. Most of them germinate.

This time I sowed 18 seeds.....11 germinated so far..... waiting on the other 7.

I cover the seeds (not the seedlings) at night and take the cover off during the day.

Tommymoo :-
I sowed 11 seeds and 8 germinated but like Alexandra said that's just stage 1 the problem now is keeping them alive during the winter, but I will do my best. I bought mine on e-bay and they were only about £3 with postage. So worse comes to the worse I havn't lost a fortune.

Roythefoot :-
Thank you very much for your tip; very realistic and useful info for me. I'm going to search the seeds on e-bay!!

26 Oct, 2013

It is a beautiful flower Roy. It has a very sweet smell.

26 Oct, 2013

Thank you Milky. I'm so glad to see it flower!!! I wish it would flower earlier though.

26 Oct, 2013

Well, about time! LOL! :>)

Congrats! I knew it would bloom for you. It took two years, right?

It's a beautiful flower. Which variety is it. It almost looks like my tri-color variety.

27 Oct, 2013

Thanks Delonix. It took 3 years from seed.

I made a mistake last year of putting the plant with the flower spike inside......it would have bloomed if I left it in a sunny sheltered spot.

This plant has four flower spikes.

I really can't remember the name of these seeds.

Alexandramou:

That's about the normal time for blooming from seedlings.

Yes, plumeria trees must have the full sun to bloom well. They have such high-light requirements, at least 6 hours of full sun.

Well, the name isn't too important. This plumeria most likely won't produce the true colors of the flower for another two years. Yes, that' right...most seedling-grown plants will not produce their true colors until blooming for about three years (this is why I always grow cuttings) :>)

Wonderful Alexandramou! You must be absolutely thrilled! :o)))

Fantastic! A job well done!

I forgot to water my seedlings during our warm spell.
