Alexandramou:
That's such a beautiful spot! It looks like a nice place to go swimming, also. I bet the water is warm too.
Our beaches in San Diego have been super crowded the last 8 or 9 days. The temps at the beaches here have been warm, around 85ºF (29ºC) or so. Here in inland San Diego it's been a lot hotter. The ocean temp. is cold now, down to only around 67ºF (20ºC), it was warmer a few weeks ago.

We went there the week after this was taken but when we got there, there was no sun on that part. We spent too much time on another island....I did a little bit of swimming there....it was kind of scary though....too much going on in the water.
No more swimming for me now.....
Winter has arrived....not that it's really cold. Rain, clouds, wind and then sun. Today was actually really warm but the weather is all over the place.

I only think that I would miss is sand on the beach. All our beaches have nice sand. The only places which don't have sand are the lagoons.
The weather this week has change 180 degrees different from the hot weather we've been having. It's much cooler only 70ºF (21ºC) during the day. We had a lot of lightning and thunder today and tonight. Some places were even flooding. We do need the rain very badly, though.

Delonix,
You can only get to these places by boat. Not something we can do in the summer.
Sounds like we have the same weather. :o)

This place looks very similar to the Channel Islands off Southern California. Only some places have sand; however, most of the islands are rocky.
Santa Catalina Island is the most famous of the Channel Island off the coast of S. Cal. Avalon is the main town which is a big tourist destination.
Here's some info on Avalon. It's an incredible subtropical island which has an even milder climate than San Diego!

ooh lovely - where's that Alexandramou? How warm is it with you at the moment?
We are expecting very strong gales here in our part of the country!! Well all along the south of U.K.!
Hope it won't be too bad - I hate wind at the best of times - let alone GALES!!!
I remember one year (long ago) we were in Kavos in early April in a room right on the beach and they had a very strong wind at that time for a day or so, - nowhere to hide!! We both huddled in one single bed to keep warm!!
It soon changed though & we had a lovely 3 weeks that year.
