Crinum 'Queen Emma' - Queen Emma Lily

Wow! very exotic...and very pretty. It's such a win-win when they have a fragrance. That's an element of gardening that I'm trying to put in place here. Have saponaria, acidanthera, daphodils, iris, roses, lavender, herbs, tilia and lilac, sweet grass and appleblossom... whenever I find a scented plant I try it out... :-)

It sounds like you quite a collection of fragrant flowering plants. :>)

I also have many fragrant plants. Did you see my Allspice tree? The whole little 6' (2m) tall tree has such a wonderful fragrance. The leaves have the strongest allspice fragrance. It's also the best way to use the spice. The reason why the green berries are ground and sold commercially is because the leaves don't store well (like Bay Leaves).

WOW!!! It's a lovely plant, & you say it's only half the height it may eventually reach?! What must it be like full grown then? :O

Yes, it can grow rather large and tall. I've seen very large ones here and in Hawaii. I've read they can grow to 15' (4.6m) tall in South Florida.

It's has gotten large. It still has some flowers on it.
As this plant gest larger it will bloom longer and put out much larger, longer flower spikes.

Just googled this - they are mega expensive!

I usually get them for free. :>)

I saw one at $50 for flowering sized bulbs!

I'll have to figure out how I can send you some bulbs. My plant is producing offshoots, which is very common.

I've read the bulbs are pretty hardy; however, I don't think this plant would be hardy there. I think it's more of a Zone 10A at minimum plant.

We are used to growing things that are not hardy, take my Amaryllis for example, they spent 6 months outside & six months inside & I've kept them for the last 12 years!
