Thank you Delonix. Is it colder than usual in San Diego?
Roy, do you grow plumerias?
We have a gorgeous weather here Driad. I think it is very cold right now up north, in States and Canada.

We've had really warm to hot weather until Dec. 4th. There's an arctic blast coming down from Alaska which is covering most of the U.S. Here in San Diego we usually escape the cold weather; however, it has been cooler than normal. The low here this morning was 45ºF (7.2ºC) which is very chilly! The high is only forecasted to be only around 62ºF (17ºC), which is well below normal. With this being said: we're still the warmest area in the state.
Temps will be 70ºF (21ºF) on Tuesday, which is just slightly below normal for inland San Diego.

I've only just started Klahanie I have 8 germinated but they're only about 3" high at the moment, Roy.

That's great Roy. They are beautiful when they bloom like this. There are 6 mature trees on this property but not all blooming yet.

We have had temps of 11c today , which is rather too warm for the time of year here .
I envy your lovely weather though , Klahanie .

I agree that 11c is not bad. We have much colder weather on the V. Island so we are happy being here Driad.

Wow! That's incredible you all think 11ºF (52ºF) is not bad or rather warm. Today it was 64ºF (18ºC) here and were freezing to death! It guess it's all subjective. :)

Today is a 28 degrees here in Mexico and Mexicans wear parkas and boots. It is winter time, they say. Northeners are in shorts and T shirts. For Vancouver Island everyting over 10 and sun is wonderful and fresh in this time of the year. I bet most of the US would be happy with 11 deg and sun these days.

I know the feeling. Many people here do the same thing. I rarely use a coat or jacket. The last couple of days I've been using my heavier windbreaker jacket.
Yes, right now most of the U.S. is in the deep freeze. 11ºC would be a heatwave.

I am glad we did not decide to stay in Arizona this year.
Hopefully it will improve there as we have couple of friends spending the winter there.

Its sunk to 1.5c this afternoon after just 6c earlier ; that's more normal for now here .
Time we all moved to Mexico for a while , I think .
Watch out , Klahanie .

Klahanie:
Yes, even the lower subtropical deserts of Arizona have been below normal. However, with this being said the temps will be back to above normal for most of the Southwest U.S. by this weekend.

Thanks goodness Delonix. Did any of the crop suffered in California.? I know part of Texas had it really bad.
Keep warm Driad .

In the Central Valley from Redding to Bakersfield they may have had some crop damage on the citrus and avocados. The last two nights there was a hard freeze warning for the Central Valley of California. The effects of the freeze most likely won't be known for another couple of weeks.
