That is early Scottish. I guess that you are not the one running around the stores on 24th like some of us.

I agree! This is the one I heve Scottish. Mine has loads of buds on it, so as long as it survives being moved, it should be lovely quite soon!

I love the colours on this one, wish I could find a place to grow one???

That is early. My witch hazel is still in bud - I checked earlier today

I like that. You must be well on your way to having flower interest in the garden in every month of the year. Its nice to splash out on something for yourself and as others say well deserved.

One of my favourite plants - it will give you so much pleasure.

Thanks everyone - it has been on my wish list for an absolute age. Pleased to have found it!
TT - it's nice to spoil yourself sometimes :)
Klahanie, due to the nature of my work, I need to be organised. Not much free time at this time of the year. I look forward to the 24th as a day to do nothing!!!
Bloomer, that's what I tell myself ;)
Karen, I hope your's does survive the move. Time will tell.
DD2 - I wouldn't have had room but as I'm moving the shed I'm going to have more room.
Andrew - I think it's in flower now because it would have been forced for sale in the GC.
Scotsgran - I'm not doing too bad in respect of having flowers in every month. Mind you - those still flowering today (apart from this) should have been finished ages ago!
Chris - I certainly hope it does!

It's been great! It's had loads of flowers on it's tiny frame. Just starting to go over a bit now, so that must mean the end of winter will soon be here.....or perhaps that it has just realised it's been moved.....:S

Glad to read - mine's is still in the pot I bought it in! I've just moved a Pyracantha to the back fence which has been revealed since the shed was relocated. I think this might work well planted in front of it.

It might....but the berries might disguise the hazel flowers if they are low down?

Bought a small one from one of my sellers on ebay. it was actually flowering, and no bigger than a stick!! inside at the mo not sure how long it will take to grow to the one you have ......lol

Ah, hadn't thought of that Karen, I was thinking more along the lines of the dark green showing up the flowers on this. Much appreciate you bringing that to my attention :)
I hope it doesn't take too long DD2 :)

Dark green would show it up beautifully though...in front of an ivy or yew perhaps?

The alternative is to have a deciduous climber on the fence, and paint it green. It will then provide a background for the hamamelis, but will disappear in the summer

The fence or the climber Andrew, sorry couldnt resist that!!

Thanks for suggestions Karen and Andrew :)
DD2 - very funny...lol :)
