Peacocks are beautiful birds, but don't they make a haunting sound when they call to one another.

Yes, they do. People do also. :-)

I remember buying a few peacock feathers to put into a vase in my bedroom Katarina, and on return from work one day, found them all bent and strewn on the floor where our cat had a wonderful time playing with them.
