I always notice the scent before I see the flowers on this shrub. Very strongly perfumed, and will tolerate dry shade once established

TT - I reckon yours looks more like S. confusa. The leaves are broader and shinier

Thank you, Andrew ...
I see what you mean about the shiny wider leaves ..

I have this one and a similar one also. It is right about what you said 'that it tolerates dry shade when established' - I made the mistake with both of mine in giving them dry shade to start with and they hardly grew at all in 5 years and no flowers. I moved them to a less shady site last year and both are now growing at the expected rate.

Scented, you say?
Straight to faves, then!

Hi Andrew ..
This looks lovely and obviously has a good scent too..
Would you please look at my recent blog called 'Sunshine after Weeks of Wet', and try to identify my Sarcococca in the photo .. is it a common variety ?
I bought it from a hospital charity shop with no label.
Thanks.
I did ask about these as a Question early in 2012, but this is the other plant (of two) and I'd like confirmation, now that it has grown a lot larger. Thank you.
