I feel for them it's such a struggle for survival !

Especially in this terrible cold, Amy. Haven't seen the turkeys in weeks.

I wonder if they've been taken for a meal by desperate creatures Lori , are you able to eat wild turkeys yourself ?

Our first summer here I found the feathers..(all that remained) of a turkey when clearing brush in the back field. The foxes, wolves and coyotes thin their population, and I'm sure some of the local people may feed them with ulterior motives...but I have never eaten a local bird!

I guess a lot of them would be old and tough much nicer to see them in the wild !

I know that some folk say that a free range hen tastes better than an industrial bird...might be the same with turkeys. When I have the choice of what to eat I prefer not to take the creatures surviving in the wild. It's a joy to see them still there, living their lives in their own niche of nature's plan. If I was starving it might be a whole different story.
