I guess you are right about that Resi a few leaves on the railway lines bring it to a halt we are never prepared in this country , your mountain side looks pretty as a compensation for you Lori :o)

That is the truth, Amy...it is a beautiful vista...but sooo cold. With the precip., Resi, we are having relatively warmer temps. Last night was minus 15 C. and today it's about minus 5. (believe it or not that IS warm) For most of January we were caught in a huge arctic high pressure zone which moved excessively slowly and produced night time lows of minus 30-40 degrees C. with daytime highs in the minus teens or twenties, with strong winds that increase the chill by 10 to 15 degrees.
This winter is like the winters of my childhood some 55 years ago! The warming trend of the last 20 years has brought us some very mild winters and we've become accustomed to that very easily. Spring doesn't even arrive on March 21st. as it does in more southerly latitudes...We don't see our crocus until late April..sometimes early May. We have a pace or two to go!

The uk could definitely not cope with that. Leaves on the tracks X 500. ;-((
I found my first crocus in the garden today, just lovely.
For us here spring isnt all that far away, compared to your springtimes. Keep warm.

I reckon if this amount of snow fell in the uk and remained for more than a day or two, the whole country would come to a standstill. What are your day-night temperatures at the moment Lori?
