My yellow ones are white, too.
Is that run of the mill for primula...that they change colour?

no just my silly camera not getting the right colours lol :O) they are yellow but the flash lit up the plant and made them look white. Poor workman who blames his tools I know!!!

I like the pale yellow ones best. I pretend they are real wild primroses ;-)

Some of the single yellow primroses are the wild ones Melchi they were on the dyke side when we came. I split them and planted them in the garden they come back year in year out.

:O))))

I bought three more for a £1 Barbara and two of them are doubles ! Its nice to see a bit of colour in the garden with this dreary weather !

It certainly is Rose, keep warm :O)

So, my yellow ones, which are also producing white flowers, are unusual, then?
6 Feb, 2014
Oh, that's good to hear, Barbara. When I was young, living in Surrey, the woods were full of them in spring, and with wood anemones - then bluebells later in the season. They always fill me with nostalgia!

That'll be a no, I take it?
"TAXI!" Lol.

I know not what has happened to yours Mouldy suppose it could be two plants in one, that happens to me sometimes. I can get red and blue primulas on what looks like one plant but on closer investigation it is two plants tightly growing in together.

Could it be a part cross-pollenation, Olive?

One of my favourites they lat such a long time too;0)
7 Feb, 2014
yes I agree Pansy they seem to be around for ever in the garden, always showing off. I do like the very bright coloured ones too :O)
7 Feb, 2014
Now Mouldy you should know better than to ask me a question like that, lol I am the wrong one to be asking about cross-pollenation. Sorry, no idea. lol :O)

The two yellows I planted last March are both now part-white.
And you're right, they do last forever. Lol.

Think also the weather affects the colour on some of these plants, only the really wild ones seem to come up really pale lemon - the hybrid ones are always different in some way.

Mine are quite a strong yellow, so must be the tame variety.
I imagine the wild ones give the slugs a few slaps, when they have a munch! ;-)

If only!

Then you'll have to genetically modify some that do.
Now, off to your lab, Mel.
We're counting on you. ;-)

Keep your fingers crossed for me, Mouldy. If I succeed, I'll make a fortune!
13 Feb, 2014
And if you don't I'll inform the ministry of mutations. ;-)
