Thank you Odaatpat. Welcome to Goy. I had a quick look at your profile and see you have lots of raised beds in your garden. Small Iris like these do very well in raised beds as they give the plants the well drained conditions that they like.

do rabbits eat them? my rabbits are SO grateful i've moved in!!...neighbours around here have lots of hanging baskets, but i prefer unground gardening, and i am stubborn enough to keep trying with different plants...small iris would be great.........

If you ask it as a question someone might be able to tell you if rabbits eat iris. I'm sorry I don't know the answer to that one. You might be better to rabbit proof your garden using chicken wire bent outwards for a foot or so.

i've been seriously considering that, Scotsgran,..I love seeing the perennials coming back every year, and really annuals mean a lot of work every year..i'm going to ask my contractors about the chicken wire ...i could hide it with a low picket fence....it can be worked out, i'm sure..i'd have to be able to get into the beds a bit, but they're not very big, and i can always change them at this early stage...thanks for your thoughtful response..it's much appreciated..pat..
