Many Cardinals Visit During Storm

Cardinals, also called "redbirds," do not migrate and have traditionally been more common in warmer climes such as the U.S. southeast. However, in recent decades they have expanded their common range north through the United States and even into Canada. This population growth may be due to an increase in winter birdfeeders and to the bird's ability to adapt to parks and suburban human habitats.

Aren't they amazing Sandra? I wish I can send you some, LOL. These guys are with me all year long; like my pets. I'm glad I can help them get through this horrid winter..

They've eaten through 40lbs of food in just two weeks. I always get them the premium grade food - with all the different seeds, nuts and dried fruits and the suet cakes. I enjoy watching them from the window. The storms however make it very difficult and dangerous for me to get around.

Wow a lot of food. You could always put their food close to your door out side would be safer for you, they would still go to it providing no one is to close thats what I do then I sit at the back door watching sitting very still.

Humm that's a good idea, I should try that. However, I meant it's dangerous to get around, to go out shopping for more seeds and supplies. The snow storms make it very dangerous to drive and the roads ice over quickly.

You could make your own fat balls, rasins, fat, oats and mix all together if you already have in the ingredients .
