I have been creating a screen more than hedge between our house and the next one. It is all evergreen and is doing well. Unfortunately, a Norwegian Maple (huge) is spreading its roots on side.

That's very pretty...this is what I need to finish off my utility corner.....a few evergreen shrubs but mine will need to take lots of shade. :)

Almost all of the houses in the "village" are either white or grey, and brick. The village in Farmington has the girls school, Miss Porter's. They own about 35 buildings, all painted white. Just about every house has some history to it. The Historical Board has to pass on every change that is made to the exterior. And we are very close to our neighbors. My screen gets sun in the morning and then it's semi shade for the rest of the day. I expect that parts of the screen will have to be moved as they are getting bigger and bigger....
