Top of the garden - The old Plum Tree Border and top edge of Peace Garden

That's really lovely! Did you put all the turf in the woods to make compost? I'm stacking mine under the hedge at the moment.

It looks lovely. I love the trees (though I know from experience how many leaves they drop!)

Karen the turfs were redistributed under the duck drinkers in the field etc to level off where they splash about in the drinkers.

Rose this was a 'field' when we came here, I used to have goats and geese and graze the grass off. When the two youngest girls now 31 and 27 went off to school I started to garden it (about 23 years ago now) little by little the grass has been replaced with borders with flowers and shrubs, no idea how big it is but do know it is hard work to keep it tidy. lol. Never measured it. lol.

Melchi the trees are a pain in the autumn but I would not be without them, they are so beautiful and I do love trees. Still picking leaves up off the borders even now.

Still lots to do around the fishpond area, which is to the righthand side of this picture, it gets covered in couch grass and is such hard work to keep tidy. Thanks for looking in Holly :O)

I would guess, from comparison with the walled garden, that you garden must be around half an acre mum....the cultivated part.

yes possibly it is Karen, I shall have to measure it, but always think it is a bit of an odd shape to measure. It is plenty big enough for me to manage, but after saying that, I walked around this morning and spied a bit of grass that could be dug out for some Heucheras to be popped in, think I shall have a nice project when the sun is a bit warmer. lol. ssssshhhhh do not tell the menfolk. lol :O)

Just re-reading your response to my comment, Barbara. I continue to remove Autumn leaves all through the year!!!! I still would not be without the trees, though. If I had to choose, I think they would remain...

I know Dd I am so lucky, not a house to be seen. Nearest neighbour is through an 80 acre wood. lol he is a good neighbour though, if I need anything I just have to ring and he is there.

Melchi I have always loved trees, think I might have been a tree hugger in a past life :O)
