I agree, you are very lucky. I had no idea you had Hummingbirds in Canada. I always thought they came from more tropical climates. What I would give to have such beautiful birds visit my garden :0

Simbad, they are fast and I have to be very patient to catch them in sitting position.
Waddy, we do have hummingbirds on Vancouver Island in Canada but not these two spiecies. Mainly Rufus and Annas. We are wintering in Mexico and this picture is from there.:-)
Holly, thanks for liking. They are wonderful tiny birds and like to watch their "wars" they are very protective and territorial.

They're so cute! I have another hummingbird nest in my front yard. It's in the Southern Magnolia tree instead of the tropical guava like last year.
I've read hummingbirds unusually will make their nests around the same place year-after-year.

We had a nest in the greenhouse of the The Broad-billed Hummingbird (the one on the left) 2 eggs .... 2 little ones.
We had to make sure that the doors and window were always opened. I thought it was way too hot in there.
But they probably know better.

I think they always lay two eggs...it's probably the most eggs that will fit into their very tiny nest. LOL!
