Spirea "Gold Flame"

I wouldn't be without this shrub as the colour remains all summer and flowers constantly through the summer too! I dead head the flowers straight after flowering and then get a second flush which goes through to the Autumn.

Me To I love the colour of the foliage ! Rose did you know that if this is a summer flowering one it should be pruned down to a few inches above the ground in the spring ,it's seems a shame but it does them good and keeps the shrub healthy .. :o)

Amy , I actually pruned this last year, but I daren't do it right down to the ground, so I just went half way ! I had read about this before , but I'm just a coward ! lol

I must admit it does seem drastic Rose It's like the clematis it's time to prune them now some of them have grown so tall with loads of new growth I hate cutting them down you wonder if they willl grow up again this year but they always do !

I have done all my Clematis and don't worry about them ! Maybe I'll cut my Spirea down this year Amy !
