They have nested in the old nest box that the blue tits used to use until last year.

How lovely to have the wrens nesting in your box. We see them very rarely now. Hope they stay in there.

That's good news HB, they are interesting to watch as they build their nest and take care of their young. Such a small bird with a big song.

nice! how close is it to the house? there was a nest-box on the fence behind a shrub when I moved in here, but it's not more than ten feet from the house, so maybe too close

Looking for small insects I expect or little patches of damp mud and moss to build their nest with.

The next box hre was half-hidden behind the quinice: I did wonder, since the foliage would allow close access for predators.
The various sites I've checked out re placement say that the boxes should face north, to give most sun protection - the only fence i've got that would qualify is where the sheds are, - there's a fairly wide gap between the shed backs and the fence, so maybe if I can get in, the box could go there. there are weeds, but nothing close enough to aloow predators in, other than the fence itself.
of course I wouldn't be able to keep it under observation, but i should be able to notice the coming and going if it did get used.
