Milky:

It's looking terrific! It should bloom there most likely in summer. I have small flower buds coming out on my large plant on my front yard wall. It can bloom 3 to 5 times a year here in San Diego, CA...not sure about there in the UK. I think you'll find out this year, though. :>)

Milky, I think dragon fruit will be much easier to grow than Plumerias. Just remember to keep them on the dry side. Myself, I have bad luck with pollinating them. There's so many around here that produce fruit...not sure what I'm doing wrong.

The way they are growing Andy, they will get too tall for the greenhouse anyway......lol

It can grow pretty fast and can take over a large heavy pergola in a very short period of time. I see huge ones taking over very large pergolas, here.

My dad's dragon fruit (which I gave him as a small cutting a few years ago) in a small contain crawled around his patio and over everything just last summer. He cut it back to the size of your plants. He going to put it on a large trellis this year.

I just started seed for this - had no idea that it could grow so fast.

Meanie:

I think you'll be surprised how fast this vine can grow. There's gigantic vines on very large trellises here in San Diego.

We're assuming that I get the seed to germinate.............

That's right. I wish you the best of luck, though.

I've never seen one started from seed. Here most people just get cuttings, as it's so much easier and faster to produce fruit.

If you lived here I would give you several cuttings, as I need to cut my vine back.
