You must live in a squirrel-free zone, to be able to keep them on the ground . . .

Thank you Alan, Klahanie, Sbub & Daisyd, very kind. I do like to potter with them all, I have just potted a few small saplings (will post a picture) from the woods behind my garden, its great fun, with Bonsai the good thing is their is no set rules re shaping at least not in my case, I usually mess up a few but by the next season they come back, just have to make sure they do not get root bound, water regularly and feed weekly
There are very few squirrels now, for some reason they have gone, I do move the trees daily, not all stay on the ground, I am very mindful of cats :-((((
