Eight of these have just opened, in the old planter (cross reference photo no. 5), in our front garden.

Thanks Angie, sounds like we've been very lucky with our first attempt then! I still reckon it has something to do with the 10 year old garden compost, that we mixed in with the soil, when planting.

Possibly Alan. These and many other tulips are notoriously difficult to get looking good 2 years in a row but up here, even harder!

Carole .. The colour reminds me of dark chocolate and cherries .... I'll just go and see what they smell like.... That's if they're still standing after today's torrential rain.

The perfect Tulip IMO. Most of mine came up blind this year for some reason.

We were lucky, We've got eight in our planter, all standing up really proud. My wife's choice, she does the "colour coordination" and purchasing. Like a lot of men, I just do the donkey work .... Well we do have our uses <]:~))

My favourite tulip - they don't do well here and after trying to do them in pots for a couple of years decided to give up and spend my money on something else :)
They are lovely Alan.
