That's if the current week-long extreme heat wave don't burn up the flower bracts. I have so many fried plants!

Bad.
It'll be Agaves and Joshua Trees for you at this rate.

You're not kidding. This has been the hottest May in San Diego since 1896...and this summer's temps are predicted to be well above average just like our past winter and spring (so far). YUCK!!!!

It appears my Heliconias have survived the extreme heat waves. The weather is now back to normal: 70ºF (21ºC) on the coast and around 80ºF (27ºC) inland...it will be like this for this week until the weekend when the hot weather will return. YUCK!!!

It would appear that the weather is returning to normal here too - cold and wet!

I'm sorry to hear about the cold and wet weather! You can send me some of the wet weather, though. :>)

Take the cold and I'll keep the wet!

Cold won't happen here this time of year; however, I'll send you the heat. LOL! :>)

Sounds good. lol!
The leaves on my Heliconia have sun-burned. The flower bracts were protected by the leaves, though.
