Hosta and Viola (Hosta 'June')

Proof of the fact that there has been very few slugs around - both these plants are looking 1000 times better than they normally would!

I think Scottish has sent her slugs and snails to me this year. I've never seen so much damage.

I've noticed there are fewer in the garden since I stopped obsessing over them and just let them do their own thing!
You do all realise, that I've probably jinxed that now!!

Yes that's what happens ... :)

I stopped using slug pellets years ago because I felt they attracted all the neighbouring pests to come along. I stopped using the liquid version when I discovered it has metaldehyde in it which can be dangerous to the birds and hedgehogs who eat them. I found it was easier to go round and pick them up but I cannot keep up with the numbers this year.
