the Co-Op had "3 for £5" so I bought two packs of Trailing and one of Bush.

I'd never grown any before, but someone , sadly can't remember who, suggested I plant them in my new planters, under the grass. couple of days later, I saw some and bought them - nice coincidence!
not checked them for nibbles, hadn't thohought of it, but will go and have a look as soon as the downpour stops!

I buy them every year,Fran, and this is the first time it's happened..I usually have Pelargoniums with them,so they are not to their liking..but I know Zinnias are..so I guess they just found the Lobelias en route :o(..I shall go back to Pelargoniums next year..I'm sure yours will be ok...It's turned into a beautiful evening,so going for a stroll round outside...checking as I go ! :o)

so much to learn with a new garden, or for a new gardener! pests weren't high on my list of "must find out", but I'll have to move them up a notch or three. And see about enticing ladybirds and lacewings in to help - not sure if I'd be totally happy seeing them, as I read they do'nt come unless thre's food for them, ie unless you're already infested!

I love Lobelia,Fran..seems to last so well..a good buy there..I planted mine out around pots on Tuesday, and 3 eaten by Thursday !.Never known them being eaten before..and pots are stood on my gravel area too..cheeky beggars..! pellets now in pots, which are the only places I use them..I think they were heading for the Zinnias ,but chose these instead :o(
