we got a scaffolding pole and hammered it well down into ground for stability(praying that no pipes ran underneath! )then added tub. I usually has more flowers in it but the birds have been pulliplants out.

What a great idea, I love it. :-)
Previous occupants of my house had put the whirly-gig about a foot in on the patio overhanging the lawn and the low wall separating the two, so long items catch on it. When I get rid of the youngsters' caravan I shall move it closer to the house, make a more attractive feature of it and gain the full use of the patio.
