commonly known around here as ocean spray. It is a native bush and can be invasive but very attractive when in bloom.

Thank you Feverfew and Amy for your comment. You are right Feverfew the bird looks like a Turkey Vulture (Cathartes aura), We have few of them around.
I did not know it was there when I took the picture of the plant :-)

Thank you Pansypotter. This plant is everywhere here on lower Vancouver Island and it is very pretty and showy at this time of the year.
