Oh thank you for posting this Scottish,as Carole gave me a small white Astilbe last year..It made lots of foliage but no flowers..This year,I have plenty,but they are still at the green stage,but it looks very similar to yours..I will be happy if it looks like this one..and I will have a name :o)

I'll certainly have a look and compare Bloomer.
Scotsgran, no I don't keep it cut back. It's a relatively young shrub - 3 years and it's mature height after 5-10 years is 1.5m according to the RHS. It's a beautiful shrub.
