Victoria all set for her prom.
Her dress was designed and made by her sister who has graduated as a fashion designer.
So proud of them both.

Lucky young lady to have a designer in the family. You have a right to be proud of both of them. She looks stunning and so does the dress.

yes Derek it is an all original 1960 Rover p4 80. it has a 2.5litre land rover engine, just less than 50,000 miles on the clock [it had 1178 when we got it in 1990]. We love it and unless it rains when we are out it tends not to get subjected to the worst of the weather.
Yes Scotsgran Elizabeth has done well and as I taught her to sew when she was 5, I feel extra proud. The dress has boning to the bodice [dutchess satin] and invisible zip and then a heavy Italian lace over the satin under skirt. she also fully lined it. there is a flower of the lace in the back of her hair so no corsage.
Toria wanted a ruched asymmetrical skirt, much to Elizabeths consternation. tricky with the type of fabrics chosen.

Hi Sbg,I would love a car like that, and far from high mileage, they don't make them like they used to, years ago I got a wolsley 6/110, beautiful car, rdrinks cabinets in the backs of the front seats, and purred like a kitten, unfortunately it had a 3 litre engine, and it was just when petrol prices rocketed, so had to get rid of it,happy days, Derek.

You have let the cat out of the bag with that admission Sbg. They both obviously get their talent from Mum. I remember my daughters first ball gown which was required for a post grad ball when she was in Germany for a year. The bosses wife offered to make the dress if we bought the pattern and fabric in Stuttgart. What fun we had choosing from the glorious range on offer. The shop was in an uproar as customers chipped in to help with translation and advice on how different fabrics would work with the chosen design. When my daughter had her first fitting the bosses wife declared the dress she had made for herself was not nearly good enough and she would need to make something different to wear. I still have the dress in the wardrobe. She only wore it for a few hours because her young German escort invited her to join him and his friends at a party where jeans and T shirts were the dress code. He ran her home to get changed and then she really had a ball with the young people.

ha yes I know the car Derek lovely. we had a 1956 A35 for years too, all our courting years. OH bought it for £25 in 1977 when he was 18 and was learning to drive it. I met him at uni, he asked if I had a full licence and when I said yes he offered to show me the area round Hull if I would be the responsible driver. The rest is history :o)
That gown sounds wonderful but as you say the after party sounded more fun.

Lovely young lady.

Will Elizabeth now have to live away from home while she works in a big fashion house or does she want to go abroad for a time to further her career. She has entered the fashion world at an exciting time now that the Duchess of Cambridge is constantly in the public eye with her fashion sense.

Oh yes, looking VERY grown up. Doesn't time pass quickly? I bet it doesn't seem two minutes since she started walking. Now look at her. Not only does she look gorgeous, but with one of my favourite cars too!
We used to have a Rover90 a few years ago and I loved it. Such a stately way to travel. :)

she had a whale of a time but she is one very tired bunny today. Thanks for the compliments.
Her sister has a placement in a vintage emporium in Somerset. She specialised in bespoke gents tailoring and pattern cutting and that is what the placement is for, Scotsgran. She hopes to stay down there as her boyfriend is there.
I just love the smell of the leather Waddy.

The world gets smaller as the young spread their wings SBG. You will be able to visit Spritzhenry more easily with family in the area.

my dad in law had a Vauxhall with a column change and bench front seat. Great in our courting days !
Yes I am pleased with the way both girls have turned out but they are like chalk and cheese in so many ways. definitely nature not nurture ;o)
